Lockheed Martin is one of the largest companies in the aerospace, defense, security, and technologies industry, employing more than 100,000 people worldwide. Lockheed had just inked a $3.5 billion defense sale (48 F-16 fighter jets) with the country of Poland that included an ambitious economic stimulus.

Challenge

Create a comprehensive multi-year social impact strategy for Poland that will “become a stimulus accelerating our economic growth and creating new jobs,” per Poland’s Defense Minister Jerzy Szmajdzinski.

Solution

In partnership with The University of Texas, Magnify completed a detailed assessment over 3 weeks in-country of the entrepreneurial climate: availability of entrepreneurial education, venture funding, access to small business loans and STEM education in high schools. This data illuminated opportunities to invest in enriching the entrepreneurial ecosystem to benefit the Polish economy.

Resulted in significant economic investments, IP licensing and technology commercialization as well as cross-country facilitated biz dev deals.
